Revealing mistakes: Obvious inflatable car travelling down the rapids.
Continuity: During the car chase, there are tire tracks in the grass from previous takes.
Continuity: Joan's dress becomes clean when she makes a break for the old bridge.
Revealing mistakes: When Jack Colton swings on a vine off of the "pre-Columbian art" bridge, the rock face that he hits gives way.
Errors in geography: Though supposedly set in Colombia, all the Hispanic actors speak with a distinct Mexican accent.
Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the opening sequence, Angelina is seen wearing stockings until she kicks Grogan. As we subsequently learn that this is a dramatization of a novel written by a character in the film, the mistake is her fault, not the filmmakers'.
Continuity: When Jack kills the snake right over Joan's shoulder, he pulls the dead snake out from behind her and it slides along a small ridge and falls down the small ridge where it touches Joan. In the next camera shot, the snake is back up on top of the ridge.
Continuity: Car falls over the waterfall twice, once before Jack and Joan exit, once after.
Continuity: As Jack and Joan go over the falls, Jack clearly loses the bag with the diamond. In the next shot, Jack is seen climbing the rock with the bag on his arm.
Errors in geography: Sulphur crested cockatoos are native to Australia, not South America.
Continuity: Jack's hair between shots after the mud slide.
Continuity: In order for Jack and Joan to enter the cave where the gem is buried, they have to wade through the bottom of a waterfall to get to it and thus become soaking wet. However, when Ralph arrives to steal the gem from them, he's completely dry.
Continuity: When Jack looks at the map and reads "Devil's Fork" for the first time, the map is entirely unfolded (the compass rose is visible in the upper right corner). In the next shot, the entire right side of the map (including the compass rose) is folded back at the crease.
Continuity: The boy who knocks out Joan's sister with the bolas is swinging them in the opposite direction when he first appears.
Continuity: When Joan's sister gets knocked out with the bolas her hat falls to the ground. When the boy climbs in and the car speeds away the hat is not on the ground.
Crew or equipment visible: Very near the beginning, when Joan is choosing a miniature from her cabinet, you can see a crew member reflected in the cabinet's glass door.
Revealing mistakes: When Zolo stabs the man in Joan's building, the man reacts to being stabbed before he is stabbed.
Continuity: The "Buy Tissues" note changes places on the mirror just before Joan grabs it.
Continuity: Jack presents Joan with a very elaborate necklace from his pocket. But when she takes it in hand, it's a simple charm on a chain.
Errors in geography: When Jack and Joan emerge on opposite sides of the river after jumping over the waterfall, Jack tells Joan to follow the sunset (West) to Cartagena. As we know the treasure is somewhere close to the middle of the Colombian Department (State) of Cordoba (reference when Jack learns about the map), she would be heading AWAY from Cartagena which is due North of Cordoba.
Continuity: During the exterior scene in which Gloria is trying to convince Joan to not go to Colombia, the weather keeps changing. First there is no precipitation, then it switches back and forth several times between snow and rain.
Continuity: During the bus crash interior scene, the placard reading "Castillo de San Felipe" is seen through the windshield falling from its mount above the horns. In the subsequent bus exterior shot, the sign is still attached.
Factual errors: In the first shootout with Zolo after the bus crash. Jack fires nine shots before reloading, then fires 11 shots (nine in the gunfight and two at the jeep). The Remington 870 only holds five rounds (four in the magazine and one in the chamber).
Revealing mistakes: When the car goes over the waterfall, you can clearly see the stunt actor standing on the side of the car, next to the closed door, and jumping.
Crew or equipment visible: When Jack and Elaine drive into the river in the car, you can see the retention cord attached to the front of the car to keep the car from flipping onto the roof.
Continuity: In the drug dealer's village, Joan is told there is no telephone for many miles. Yet in the chase that ensues, many telephone poles with wires can be seen throughout the village.
Revealing mistakes: In the scene on a grassy hill, Joan is picking wild flowers while Jack skims a book as they talk. Jack then excitedly decides they should go back into town, and attempts to toss his backpack into the cargo bed of Juan's truck. But it overshoots slightly and tumbles onto the ground.
Continuity: When Jack first grabs the vine to swing across the river, it is bare. Then, during the swing, the vine is covered with leaves. At the end of the swing when he reaches the other side, it is bare again.
Continuity: (At 33:00) Jack mudslides down the hill face first between Joan's legs, his shotgun is no longer in his pack, so as to not harm her during the stunt. The next shot shows the gun reappear.
