I didn't expect much when I decided to watch MORTUARY and I was surprised by how watchable it was. There are a lot of things going against it: cheap production that's not really eye pleasing. The acting is somewhat poky and the story is obvious but I actually watched MORTUARY from beginning to end without even fast forwarding for one second, which, for me, is a good sign. It's fun to see Bill Paxton in an early role. He sorta makes the movie even though his character's eventual outcome seemed a tad ridiculous. And there's David Wallace, last seen in one of my favorite horror flicks, HUMONGOUS. I wonder why his career never took off. The killer's look was cool. It reminded me a lot of the killer in SCREAM. All in all, an okay time waster.
