Each day we're celebriting the birth of various cinematic persons. Can someone in Hollywood please give their Oscar to Ed Harris today? I mean, my god how long does he have to wait for that damn thing? The rest of today's Sagittarians are less easy to shop for. What could we give Jon Stewart, for example, that he doesn't already have?
Ed, Laura and Jon
1896 Lilia Skala, Oscar nominated actress (Lilies of the Field)
1923 Gloria Grahame, Oscar winner (The Bad the Beautiful)

1941 Laura Antonelli, Italian actress, sex symbol
1946 Joe Dante He'll always have Gremlins, such a great 80s picture.
1949 Alexander Godunov, like Baryshnikov, he was a Russian ballet star who defected to America and co-starred in movies. It didn't go quite as well. He never achieved anything close to Misha's level of fame though he made for a memorable screen presence (Witness, »

How did you like the Sgu-Kino Vol. 1 webisode recaps? Well, if you loved them here goes Vol. 2 like I promised. After one of the most bizarre hours of Sci-Fi TV that I have ever seen (tonight's Sgu- "Time" episode), I feel in the mood to explore more of the Destiny. How about you?
Let's begin with webisode 11!
Webisode 11 – Kino Race
Riley and Eli race two Kinos and nearly takes off Camile's head in the process. Or I think it was Camile… Hey, they got to have fun somehow, right?
Webisode 12 – Covered Kino
Vanessa James gets ready to take a steam shower and spots the Kino watching her. She rightfully covers it up. I bet it was Riley, that weasel…
Webisode 13 – "Variety"
A scientist and Chef Airman Becker create formulas to make different flavors for food, for instance, banana. Chef Becker asks if there is any chance they could make chocolate, »

The New Kids on the Block were on every kind of merchandise you could possibly imagine: Posters, bedspreads, T-shirts, PJs, lunchboxes, watches, backpacks, books, magazines and, of course, dolls.
In my youth, I had the Jordan Knight-approved Ken doll, complete with rat tail and microphone for when you wanted to have him sing to you while listening to a cassette of some of the most choice NKotB songs. (In case you're wondering, "Tonight," "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind)" and "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" are all primo tunes.)
Anyway, as it turns out there were also rag dolls of the guys. I wasn't too familiar with them, so I played along. But it seems that Jordan doesn't really care for those dolls. In fact, he thinks they are kind of strange.
"The weirdest thing? Well there's these dolls that don’t even look like us. They were supposedly us. »

'Dennis was so helpful,' says the 'Twilight' actor, whose wife was pregnant during filming.

He's one of the hottest up-and-coming stars in Hollywood, and now "Twilight" star Cam Gigandet is back in theaters again as one of several psychologically fragile astronauts in the sci-fi thriller "Pandorum." But to hear him tell it, Cam's new bride is the one who had the most eventful existence during the film's Germany shoot.
In an interview sure to delight Cam's many "Twilight" Moms, the former vampire and new dad dropped by the MTV News studios earlier this week to talk about geeking out over Dennis Quaid, dealing with morning sickness and his epic quest to find a package of saltines.
MTV: So, Cam, "Pandorum" hits theaters this weekend.
Cam Gigandet: It does!
MTV: You've spoken about how the astronauts in this film, including yourself, »

The Legend of Pancho Barnes isn’t much like your usual queer film festival documentary. In fact, its actual “queerness” is entirely ambiguous, but its subject: aviator, cross dresser and entertainer extraordinaire Florence “Pancho” Barnes, makes it all worthwhile.
Directed by Amanda Pope, it’s a thoroughly entertaining look at a very unconventional life. If all you know of Pancho Barnes comes from Kim Stanley’s portrayal of her in The Right Stuff, well, you’ve come to the right place.
There’s really no “legend” to speak of here, as the film is a straight-up documentary about our heroine. We begin with her childhood, circa 1905.
As a tomboy, Florence was a disappointment to her wealthy, Victorian mother. She originally played the part of the good girl, marrying a reverend, and having a son, but soon enough, she broke away with tradition. Like most »

Talk about the wrong stuff. Sam Shepherd was busted Saturday in Illinois for drunken driving and speeding. The Right Stuff star told officers in the town of Normal that he had made a pitstop at a local watering hole before heading to a hotel around 2 a.m. He was pulled over for doing 46 in a 30 mph zone, and his blood-alcohol level registered twice the legal limit, police said. Shepard posted $300 and was released from the McLean County jail a few hours later, and he presumably resumed his road trip back the Kentucky home he shares with Jessica Lange. No court date has been scheduled. As an actor, Shepherd's best known for his Oscar-nominated turn as Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff; other credits... »
