Family Guy Something Something Something Dark Side Trailer

18 hours ago | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Big giant robot “camels”? Peter Griffin’s archnemesis the Chicken as Boba Fett? Stewie Griffin as Darth Vadar? Yup, it’s another installment of Family Guy does Star Wars. The sequel to the hit “Blue Harvest” is the lazily titled “Something Something Something Dark Side”, which I guess is pretty much all you need to know about the movie. It’s a feature-length (well, 44-minutes, anyway) parody of “The Empire Strikes Back”, complete with random asides, inside jokes for fans of the show, good old fashion politically incorrect gags, and some very nice, slick animation. 20th Century Fox releases the movie on DVD and Blu-ray December 22, 2009, just in time for the Family Guy fan in your family. Featuring the voices of Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Seth Green, and Mila Kunis. »

First Look: 'Family Guy' spoofs 'Empire Strikes Back'

25 November 2009 1:27 PM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

After the success of Family Guy's 2007's Star Wars spoof, Blue Harvest, Seth MacFarlane and his writers decided to parody Empire Strikes Back. The result? Something, Something, Something Dark Side, an hour-long episode that will be available on DVD and Blu-ray Dec. 22. (In this photo, Stewie Griffin reprises his role as Darth Vader.) Even though MacFarlane & Co., had experience parodying the franchise, the Family Guy creator still said it was still a challenge the second time around. "It’s a lot of work, and it’s mainly because of what the movie was, and how visually impressive the movie was, »

Family Guy’s Something Something Something Darkside Trailer: The Empire Strikes Back Spoof

25 November 2009 10:39 AM, PST | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

So here's the thing: Star Wars spoofs are basically the most obvious and dated thing imaginable, but I actually kinda liked Fanboys. Go figure. That still doesn't make me any more interested in another Family Guy Star Wars special, but I know there are a lot of people out there looking forward to this. The first Family Guy Star Wars special Blue Harvest was such a huge hit that Fox decided to push the release date for the sequel back a bit and release it on DVD before it airs on TV (a practice becoming more and more common nowadays). It's called Something Something Something Darkside, and it parodies the events from The Empire Strikes Back. A trailer has arrived on Apple.com [1], which makes it like... official, or something. I'm sure you know what you're in for. Are you a Family Guy fan? Is this something you plan on checking out? »

Funnier Trailer For Family Guy ‘Empire Strikes Back’ Parody

25 November 2009 7:59 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

About a week or so ago I posted a teaser trailer for “Something, Something, Something, Darkside”, which is Family Guy’s newest spoof of the Star Wars Trilogy, this time lampooning the happenings of Empire Strikes Back.

I lot of you were happy to see Family Guy doing a follow-up to their hilarious 2007 Star Wars parody, “Blue Harvest”, but thought that the teaser trailer was a bit disappointing in terms of laugh out loud moments.

Well I’m happy to report that there is now a full trailer for “Something, Something, Something Darkside”, and it really does bring the laughs.

What was missing from the teaser trailer that is included here are those sly, knowing little winks that Family Guy provides on just about any topic imaginable. Of course, there is plenty of raunchy humor as well (never fear, my low-brow friends), along with plenty of Family Guy inside jokes. »

Family Guy’s Something… Dark Side Trailer

24 November 2009 8:33 PM, PST | newsinfilm.com | See recent newsinfilm news »

This is a post about Family Guy’s “Something, Something, Something Dark Side” trailer, but I couldn’t fit the whole title in the subject line.  I hope you’ll forgive me.

The movie is Family Guy’s humorous take on Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back after their success with Episode IV parody titled “Blue Harvest.”  By the way, the title comes from this clip in the “Barely Legal” episode (season 5) where the Emperor finds the formula for great Star Wars dialogue. The trailer is funny, but seems to be a lot of recycled jokes from previous seasons.

Official synopsis:

The saga continues as Luke (Chris), Leia (Lois), Han Solo (Peter) and Chewbacca (Brian) have evaded the dreaded Imperial Starfleet led by the cunning, conniving and curiously short evil lord Darth Vader (Stewie), setting up a new secret base on the remote ice world of Hoth. »

Trailer for Family Guy's 'Something, Something, Something Dark Side'

24 November 2009 11:07 AM, PST | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

An extended trailer for the next Family Guy Star Wars special has arrived online over at Apple and iTunes (watch it after the jump). Titled Something, Something, Something Dark Side, this time the animated sitcom is aiming their lightsabers at Empire Strikes Back. Featuring large camel robots who hurt their knees, annoying high-pitched princesses and a giant chicken dressed as Boba Fett, fans should expect the same sorta hilarious shtick that came out of Family Guy's first Star Wars spoof, Blue Harvest (though some feel the Robot Chicken Star Wars episodes one-upped them considerably, but that's a topic for a different day).

Because of the popularity of the first special, 20th Century Fox is pimping out the follow-up pretty hard. It's due to hit DVD and Blu-ray on December 22nd, and I imagine they'll actually air it on television at some point in 2010. A spoof of Return of the Jedi, »

Chevy Chase And Beverly D'Angelo To Take Another 'Vacation'... Sort Of

20 November 2009 7:00 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Friends... I've got mixed emotions about this news. On the one hand, the "Vacation" movies are comedy gold. So any chance to see Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo take up their roles as the Griswold family again has me pounding the walls in excitement. On the other hand, this latest reunion is for a HomeAway ad campaign which is set to launch during the Super Bowl on February 7, 2010. Sooooo... yeah, conflicted.

This isn't the first time that Chase and D'Angelo have stepped into their Griswold roles in recent memory. They made a brief cameo in "Family Guy: Blue Harvest," the animated series' loving parody of "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope," complete in a flying version of the first "Vacation" movie's Wagon Queen Family Truckster (the big green station wagon thing). A replica of the Truckster will also appear as part of the HomeAway ad campaign, according to a report from Us Weekly. »

Slott promises changes for Spider-Man

19 November 2009 1:13 AM, PST | digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news »

Writer Dan Slott has promised big changes for Peter Parker in Marvel's Dark Reign: The List - Spider-Man one-shot. The comic is the last of a series of eight Dark Reign: The List one-shots that see the villainous Norman Osborn taking steps to neutralise his greatest enemies. "Two Avengers summits ago, I was there when Brian Michael Bendis and Matt Fraction pitched 'The List'," Slott told Newsarama. "Back then it was called 'Project Muscle'. I know. That was the working title. It's like when they shot Star Wars and called it Blue Harvest. "When we were talking, and as we've been talking about 'The List' and 'Dark Reign', the main power broker in all of 'Dark Reign' is Norman Osborn. So, dear God - [long-time Osborn foe] Spider-Man's got to be integral to this (more) »

Family Guy ‘Empire Strikes Back’ Parody Trailer

13 November 2009 2:01 PM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

To round off this Friday nice and easy, I thought I’d post a little something to get you laughing (or hopefully at least chuckling). Family Guy has become a household name at this point, but the show managed to out do itself back in 2007 with its season 6 premiere, “Blue Harvest”, an hour-long parody of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

Well, today we have the trailer for Family Guy’s follow up to “Blue Harvest”, which could only be an equally hilarious skewering of the next film in the Star Wars canon, The Empire Strikes Back.

With “Blue Harvest” the Family Guy team lampooned pretty much everything you could ever want to make fun of in a Star Wars movie, and earned extra points for inserting all our favorite characters from Quahog into ironic (and gross) Star Wars roles. [Nerd Alert] “Blue Harvest” was the fake working title used during »

New 3-D Star Wars Trilogy on the Horizon?

22 October 2009 8:18 AM, PDT | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

File this one in the "We'll Believe It When We See It" category, but MarketSaw is saying an "absolutely connected," "trusted source" has let slip that, in addition to re-releasing the entire 6-part Star Wars trilogy in 3-D, George Lucas is planning on creating a new trilogy of Star Wars movies, filmed entirely in 3-D.

The article goes on to claim that Lucas is only interested in producing the trilogy, not directing, and that he may tap his friend Steven Spielberg, or perhaps Francis Ford Coppola, to helm one or all of the films.

Again, we'll believe it when we see it.

Update: Is a New Star Wars Trilogy Coming in 3D?

21 October 2009 7:58 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

It seems we might be going back to a galaxy far, far away in stereoscopic 3D, if a new rumor is to be believed. MarketSaw is reporting that a new Star Wars trilogy is being prepped for a 3D release.

It was also reported by the site that they're sources indicate the new trilogy will not be directed by George Lucas, although he will still produce, and that heavyweight directors Steven Speilberg and Frances Ford Coppola could be in consideration to direct these new films.

The site is also saying that these films moving forward is heavily dependent on the success (or failure) of James Cameron's 3D epic Avatar, which is set for a December 18 release. It was also reported that work is under way on converting the original trilogy - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and »

Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side

Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Dark Side is the upcoming hour-long episode of the Fox animated series Family Guy and the sequel episode to the Star Wars parody Blue Harvest, retelling the story of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as Blue Harvest did with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, recasting characters from Family Guy into roles from the film. The episode was originally scheduled to air as the Family Guy 7th season finale, but has been pushed back to season 8. Like the previous installment, the poster for Dark Side is based on the design of an actual Star Wars poster. "...While on the planet 'Hoth' and being chased by 'Darth Vader' ('Stewie Griffin'), young 'Luke Skywalker' ('Chris Griffin') has a vision of his dead mentor 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' ('Herbert'), who tells him to go to the planet 'Dagobah' and learn the ways of »

Family Guy's Star Wars parody, Blue Harvest, was arguably the most popular and influential event episode in the show's history. So, the bar is set high for Seth MacFarlane's Empire Strikes Back send-up, Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Darkside.

According to Fox's news release on the upcoming DVD, the plot sticks to the same lines as Empire: "Darth Vader (Stewie) is hunting the rebel Luke Skywalker (Chris) and his troops relentlessly across the galaxy."Continue reading Family Guy's Empire Strikes Back parody arriving for Christmas

Profiling Hogwarts' Teaching Staff In 'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince'

16 July 2009 10:30 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Before Bill Nighy confirmed he was going to be joining the cast of “Harry Potter,” he wasn’t being facetious when he complained that he was the last big British actor to not be involved in the series. With heavy hitters like the late Richard Harris, Kenneth Branagh and Ralph Fiennes weaving in and out of the series, who can blame him for feeling left out?

The professors at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in particular possess acting talent which comes from the upper echelons of British celeb royalty. Young Americans might not recognize all of their faces outside of "Potter," especially those who are masked behind beards and more extensive makeup. So we've decided to profile the top Hogwarts talents for you here; not their fictional professorships, but rather the reasons you should look for them in roles outside the "Harry Potter" universe.
