The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Bond has sex, but nothing graphic.

Octopussy is seen, from a distance, emerging from a swimming pool. She walks over and stands shamelessly, her hands by her sides not covering herself, in front of a group of fully clothed women who wrap her totally naked body in a towel. She does not appear to be worried by the fact that the her naked breasts and gentials are see by the clothed women, but only her bare buttocks are seen by the audience. (It is hard to see since the camera is so far away)

Violence & Gore

A man's head is sawed off with a blade. Shootouts, but fairly brief.

Profanity

The title has the word "pussy" in it

Many uses of "damn"

Bond smokes and drinks.

Actually, Roger Moore (as James Bond) does not smoke during the film. The only lead actor seen smoking in this film is Maud Adams (as Octopussy). Using a standardized scoring system, this film received a smoking rating of 4 Butts (on a scale of 0-4 Butts). For more information on the impact of onscreen smoking and the initiation of youth tobacco use, or for more information on the rating system, visit www.smokescreeners.org.

A man's head is cut off and 2 men are seen hanging from a rope.
