  • Continuity: Fatima Blush skis with one ski, but when she skis into James' arms, she has two.

  • Continuity: Bond loses his shoes, shirt and jacket when he jumps the horse into the ocean.

  • Continuity: Leiter emerges from the water after spying on the yacht and removes a hood - that he wasn't wearing underwater.

  • Continuity: When Fatima skis into him in the bar, Bond is drinking a martini in a martini glass. After some dialogue, in which he refers to the martini, he is drinking a smaller golden drink in a different glass.

  • Continuity: When ships radar is tracking missiles, distance readings go "15km, 12 km, 10km, 4km, 5km, 3km..."

  • Continuity: In between the time Fatima sees Bond and his "fishing" partner posing with their catch, and when she runs into the hotel to plant the bomb under Bond's bed, she somehow manages a complete change of clothes.

  • Continuity: Just before James Bond enters the room filled with enemies during his training exercise at the beginning of the film, he throws a grenade from the rooftop through the window. The grenade lands on a table with a chessboard used by two foes. When Bond swings through the same window in the next scene it gets clear that it was impossible for him to throw the grenade right on the chessboard because the table is too far away from the window.

  • Continuity: In the underwater fight in the cave at the Tears of Allah, the diver fighting with Bond has his knife gripped with the blade downwards; in the next shot it is gripped with the blade upwards, but there hasn't been enough time for him to change grips.

  • Continuity: Inside the dungeon, and for the rest of the escape and horse chase, Bond is wearing a jacket he clearly didn't have the moment he was captured.

  • Continuity: When Bond is making love to Fatima Blush below deck, her hair is inconsistent - in the first and last shot her hair is straight, but in the middle shot her hair is curly.

  • Factual errors: When the guard comes into the prison after Bond cuts himself loose, he does not have a magazine in his AK-47 rifle.

  • Continuity: When Captain Jack Petachi hears Fatima Blush coming, he puts his cigarettes and matches under the sheets. When James Bond searches the room the next day, he finds the cigarettes and matches under the mattress.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Bond realizes that Largo's men are escaping with one of the missiles, he takes a shortcut into an underwater cavern which leads to the sea by jumping into the village well. This may show that the villagers are drinking from a salt water source. On the other hand, the well could be fed by a fresh-water, non-tidal underground river that empties into the sea.

  • Revealing mistakes: In the cave battle, when Bond pushes the large boulder onto the henchmen below, you can see the paper-mache "rocks" breaking apart and hollow inside.

  • Continuity: When Domino is being rescued by Bond from the bidders, she's not wearing her "Tears Of Allah" pendant. However, inside the naval vessel, she produces the pendant when asked for it by Bond.

  • Factual errors: When the SPECTRE technician is tracking the two cruise missiles by ship-borne radar, the radar dish is sweeping back and forth on a roughly 90 degree angle, but the radar scope is showing a full sweep in one direction (not to mention the strobe light in the center of the radar dish, which has nothing to do with transmitting radar energy).

  • Revealing mistakes: During the computer game the movements of Bond and Largo with their joysticks don't match the movements of the computer screens before them.

  • Factual errors: U.S. Air Force Officers never wore silver chin straps on their blue service caps.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Bond throws the henchman off the cliff and into the water, the "splash" sounds long before the body even hits the water.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the opening where the guards are playing chess the board is set up backwards - white or the lighter color square is always placed in the right hand corner.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The story Largo tells Domino about the "Tears of Allah" is illogical. "The prophet wept for the barrenness of the desert, and his tears made a well." Islam's Prophet is Muhammad/Mohammed, not Allah. Furthermore, a Muslim fortress would never have been permitted to have the pagan statues we see.

  • Factual errors: The nuclear warheads would have exploded when they hit the surface of the water. The movie presents the warheads sinking to the bottom of the sea, as if they had run out of fuel or something.

  • Revealing mistakes: The nuclear warheads fly very low and very loud, yet, nobody seems to notice them.

  • Continuity: During the chase scene where Bond is riding his motorcycle, the tire guard on the front wheel flies off after an impact. In the scene where he faces off against Fatima, the guard is in place again.

>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

  • Plot holes: SPOILER: The twist of the opening scene is that the battle was all a sham as part of a training exercise, and the enemy soldiers are Bond's own people. Yet it sure looks like Bond was killing the guards.
