Amitabh played countless dual roles in films but in this he played triple role
He plays a lawyer who is made a criminal and who ages and then he plays an inspector and a singer
The story is the same old formulaic stuff we have seen countless times and the direction isn't as engrossing either
The problem lies in too much focus given to crude comedy and the focus shifts from the main story
The union of the Bachchans in the end is done well but by then people have lost interest in the film
Direction is weak Music is good, many songs are big hits like Pyaar mein dil pe
Amitabh plays all 3 roles with distinctive traits He is a winner in the cop and the lawyer role(though he looks too old to be 25 in the cop role) but he tends to overact in the singer's role Yet in all fairness a great job, The cop and the other side of the law role he played again in AAKHREE RAASTA
The heroines like Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi, Waheeda Rehman are good in their parts, though Parveen and Zeenat don't have much to do Amjad Khan does his part well as usual,
Kader Khan is okay while
Aruna Irani
Shakti Kapoor
Gurbachchan Singh are adequate
