• The series was top-rated during its initial season but was canceled midway through its second when its ratings took a sharp decline.
  
  
• Col. Flagg and Radar O'Reilly were the only characters from "M*A*S*H" (1972) to appear in guest roles.

• In the second season, plans were afoot to have Alan Alda and/or other veterans of the original series appear in order to boost the show's ratings, but the series was cancelled before any of these plans were finalized.
