The villa that the "Michael" and "Cathy" characters stayed at is located Oia, Santorini. It was purchased by a couple in 1987 and now exists as a gift shop named "Summer Lovers".

Goofs:

Continuity: Just before Michael views Lina with his binoculars there is a puff of cigarette smoke that passes him. But scenes of Michael just prior and after shows nobody around him and no cigarette in the ash tray.

Makes you want to go to the Greek isles

I liked the theme of personal growth and minor sexual liberation against the backdrop of Greece, specifically, Thira (Santorini). There is some decent, although very minor, treatment of the archaeology of the Minoan civilization on Thira. The performances were good and the scenery is stunningly beautiful. A good amount of toplessness and some minor full nudity is refreshingly well treated. Point in fact, I had similar experiences when I went to the islands in 1984. Entertaining and poignant.
