Trivia:

The New Year's Eve concert scenes were actually filmed at The Seymour Centre (a theatre adjacent to The University of Sydney in Camperdown), not at the Sydney Opera House. Filming took three days, and the concert crowd were groups of school kids from various Sydney schools. The scene where Angus is kissing the usherette were filmed later, in one of the foyers at the Sydney Opera House.

Goofs:

Continuity: At the beginning of the "Gimme Love" number, Jackie and Angus are seen in the club. Then they arrive and walk into the club.

Quotes:

Nana: Lay off him love, you know he's got a plate in his head.
Angus: A plate? I think they threw in the knife and fork, too.

Awesome fun!

Overlooked an unknown, this is a must-see movie for those who love to rock! This is a punk rock musical with a satiric edge by the director of My Brilliant Career.

Pretty typical plot, really. Quirky girl knows she's destined for stardom. When Mom is in danger of losing the diner, our heroine enters a singing contest for the prize money. Meanwhile, boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy sings to girl.

You'll have fun every minute, and then you'll buy the soundtrack!
