Continuity: The grip Mrs. Simmons has on the knife when she is chasing Eddie around the kitchen table.
Anachronisms: When discussing marriage outside the diner, Eddie tells Shrevie that he and Elyse will be vacationing in Cuba, which had already been taken over by Castro on 1 January 1959. By New Years Day 1960, a honeymoon in Cuba would have been considered out of the question.

Anachronisms: During the wedding scene, the bass player's electric bass has block inlays, a feature not found in Fender electric basses until the late 1960s.
Anachronisms: The movie ends 1st January 1960, however at some point before that we hear "Beyond the sea" by Bobby Darin. The song wasn't released until later in 1960.

Anachronisms: In the wedding scene at the end, which is New Year's eve 1959-60, the bass player in the band is playing a black Fender Jazz Bass. The Fender Jazz Bass was not produced until later in 1960, and was not available in the black color shown in the movie and formally named the "Jazz Bass" until 1962.
Continuity: In the wedding scene Beth is sitting next to Barb but when at the reception she is in a blue bridesmaid dress, which is incorrect because she was not a bridesmaid at the wedding.
Anachronisms: In the strip club scene, the National Bohemian Beer bottle labels were introduced in the late 1970s. In 1959, they were still the old red and black labels.
