The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .

Sex & Nudity

A woman takes a shower and gets dressed; You can briefly see her breasts in a couple shots.

To a test question a woman asks whether the question is meant to judge whether she is a lesbian.

Violence & Gore

Not a lot of violence, but the violence that Blade Runner does have can be bloody.

A man is shot twice in the chest; He flies backwards in the chair he was sitting in. (No blood)

A woman is shot twice in the back; You can see bloody bullet wounds.

A man is shot through the back of the head and you can see (from the front) his forehead burst open.

A man grabs another man's head in his hands and crushes it off-screen.

A woman is shot in the chest; As she writhes on the ground, she is shot again until she dies. (Bloody bullet wounds visible)

A man grabs another man's hand and breaks a couple of his fingers; You can hear the fingers breaking and see the man wince in pain.

A man hits another man in the face with a metal pipe; You can later see blood on the man's face.

A man has a nail stabbed through his hand (very graphic).

Profanity

One use of the f-word (this word is replaced with "father" in the final cut version), a few other, milder profanities such as "a--hole" or "g--d---".

Characters are seen smoking cigarettes and drinking alcoholic beverages in a couple scenes.

The movie's atmosphere is very dark; Blade Runner takes place in a dystopian Los Angeles in 2019. The last 15 minutes of the movie are somewhat intense.

characters are shot and hung off buildings
