In the pool there is a topless woman sitting on top of a man's shoulders. A teenage girl and boy are shown undressing and making out in the girl's bedroom. Afterward, it is implied that the two had sex. One character (Mrs. Smails), while in the shower, asks another (Danny, who is being mistaken for Judge Smails), "Will you loofah my stretch marks?"
One character (Carl Spackler) spends a good deal of the movie attempting to exterminate a gopher. Despite the usage of a significant amount of plastic explosives, the gopher survives. The golf course, however, is completely destroyed.
One "f"-word (Danny says, "A lot you f***ing know, D'Annunzio"); two "s"-words; two instances of God's name "used in vain"; the word "ass" is used three times (and not as a synonym for "donkey"); a character (Carl) uses a slang term for the female genitalia ("I smell varmint [female genitalia]; the only good varmint [female genitalia] is dead [female genitalia].")
Some cannabis smoking; some cigarette smoking; some drinking. One character vomits after drinking an alcoholic beverage with a cigarette in it. One character (Ty) asks another (Danny) if he takes drugs. Danny says "Everyday." Ty says, "Good. So what's the problem?"
