The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Bond has sex, though it is not explicit.

Some innuendo, "attempting re-entry"

Violence & Gore

No blood, but there is a shootout on a space station where many people are killed

A woman is chased down and killed by dogs but it occurs off-screen

Character is thrown from a tower and crashes head-first through a piano, but played for comic effect.

Bond throws a knife into another character's chest

Character is hit in the chest by a poison dart, put in an air lock then ejected into outer space

Profanity

None

Bond smokes and drinks.

Actually, James Bond does NOT smoke in Moonraker. Compared with the earlier movies in the James Bond series, this film has very little smoking. In fact, there are only three scenes of smoking by background extras, and none of the stars or co-stars smokes. Unfortunately, there is a scene in which a rolling gurney passes three billboards, one for 7-Up, one for Seiko, and one for Marlboro! Can you say product placement? Using a standardized scoring system, this film received a smoking rating of 2 Butts (on a scale of 0-4 Butts). For more information on the impact of onscreen smoking and the initition of youth tobacco use, or for more information on the rating system, visit www.smokescreeners.org.

A python tries to strangle Bond.

Villain's main henchman, Jaws, has metal teeth and is very threatening
