This film is based off of Lois Duncan's excellent book. I think that this film is really unique and entertaining. It follows a young girl named Julia that has to live with her aunt, uncle and cousins after her family is killed in a burning car. Her cousin Rachel immediately detects that there is something that isn't quite right about her. Soon after, Julia begins to turn Rachel's family and friends against her. But is Julia really who she says she is?
Directed by horror movie legend Wes Craven, and starring Linda Blair, Fran Drescher and Lee Purcell, this movie is one that I can never get sick of no matter how many times I've seen it. It is one of the few films that gives me the same feeling with every viewing, as the first time I watched it. This movie never gets boring to me. It's a perfect movie to watch whenever you're bored, because it's sure to entertain you. "Summer of Fear" is a horror movie classic that deserves more recognition than it seems to receive.
