I have seen this breathtaking film several times and I feel it could not be any better than it is in every area of movie-making.From the very first moment you,as a viewer,are aware that a great deal of pride went into the "method"type acting that comes about as the characters are exposed and layers peeled away.James Caan becomes that cowboy,Robards is splendid,Fonda outstanding--no makeup--tons of talent.My dear old friend Dick Farnsworth was about as good as he ever was and i defy anyone who could have nailed it as he did-what a man.

No car wrecks,no filthy language.I do know that if you ever have had occasion to visit this part of Arizona,you can smell the great air.

The western has no surprise endings or anticlimactic disorganization either but if you want to view something that will keep and hold your attention for two hours and not disappoint,well this flick is for you.
