I saw this movie with an American audience as an unannounced fill-in for a film that didn't show up as scheduled in 1982. I never heard an audience laugh so loud at any comedy either before or since then. I have never been able to find a Zone 1 DVD version (North America) of this movie. Pierre Richard plays his usual role of the naive but good-hearted protagonist who falls into and out of one difficult situation after another. The plot is a fast-paced "chase" comedy. The characters are almost comic book stereotypes but unique in their own way. This movie is not subtle but is hilarious. If you liked Les Comperes or Le Chevre, this should entertain you just as much. When is someone going to make a North American DVD of this available.?!
