John Jakes is the Master Story Teller. I have read the complete Kent Family Chronicles. You first must like history, then adventure and the love of our country. I really like how the true events of history has been blended by John Jakes into a story that covers two centuries.
Andrew Stevens is perfect for the lead role. And the all star supporting cast is great to be able to see the actors and actresses I grew up with. Certainly for no other reason to watch this movie is to pass on to our children the heritage of the land and the people who founded it.
John Jake's is praised as "the godfather of the historical novel," "the people's author," and "America's history teacher," Jakes mingles the lives of his fictional characters with those of historical personages, and involves them in the great events of the U.S. and the world.
