Elizabeth Ashley is college professor Richard Crenna's wife. She finds out he's having an affair with a student due to a misplaced love letter that the student wrote him. As you might expect, All Hell breaks loose (but in a TV movie kinda way). This plot has been used more times in the history of cinema than any other I'd bet. I'd put this telefilm a little above average. Annette O'Toole is decent as Crenna's girlfriend who goes to Ashley for help after finding out she's pregnant with his child. Necessity makes for strange bedfellows sometimes. EA also encounters an old boyfriend who has recently come back to town, but who also is planning to move away again. Ann Wedgeworth is also on hand as Ashley's best friend, who's had marriage troubles of her own and is now divorced and tells Ashley she was raped by her veterinarian during a house call. Ann then changes her mind and decides she should marry the guy (!). So who ends up with who at the end? Watch and find out. I've got this on Time-Life Video from long ago. It would doubtless be easier to see this on late-night television than it would to find another copy of this video, so check it out should it air.
