Based on a chilling novel by Peter Straub, this quiet little gothic tale reveals the nature of grief and how it makes us vulnerable to evil. Mia Farrow is positively haunting, so is the murky London setting. The (surprisingly elegant and nonviolent) ending is an eye-widener.
