FUTUREWORLD (1976) (D: Richard T. Heffron) ** WESTWORLD was one of the greatest science fiction adventures ever; a great combination of good fun turning into deadly suspense on a small budget. However, this sequel is an unworthy followup, with two dull leads in Peter Fonda and Blythe Danner, as well as a God-Awful wasted cameo by Yul Brynner... he revamps his formerly effective "robot gunslinger" into the form of a sickeningly contrived love fantasy of Danner's. The robots have now become silly self-parodies of themselves, spouting such inane dialogue as "I am not programmed for sex," "I am not programmed to lie," and "We're both sex models".
