A woman goes skinny-dipping during the opening scene (we see her naked silhouette as she runs along the beach and while she is in the water), we see her breasts as she runs down into the water.

A brief song is heard about a girl who lost her virginity at 15.

Quint tells Hooper to "Stop playing with yourself".

In the beginning, a girl is attacked by a shark. No blood is scene, but, the screams are very violent.

A boy's hand is bleeding.

A boy is splashing blood in the water.

A man is looking at a few violent images. We see a picture of a bleeding shark and a few images of injured humans from shark attacks.

A severed arm is shown. Some blood is shown.

A dead shark is shown with blood in its mouth.

A man cuts a dead shark open causing white liquid to come out of its stomach and a few things that it had eaten that hadn't been digested yet. Two of the items that come out of its stomach is a severed fish head and the other severed part of its body.

A dead man is shown floating under the water.

A severed leg is shown.

Chum is being used as bait for a shark.

A group of men throw bloodied bait into water for a shark to come and eat it.

A group of shark hunters through dead and bloody bait into some water.

A man has his hand cut by rope, making his hand bloody.

A man is hit rapidly by a shark in a cage, showing blood appear.

A man is bitten by a shark causing his chest to bleed and him to spew blood out of his mouth.

A man shoots a shark three times.

A man stabs a shark in the head. We see the stabs in clear detail. The shark's face is bloodied, and holes are shown where the man has has stabbed it.

Blood is seen exploding. It falls deep into the water. We see body parts in detail.

Strong language for a PG movie(e.g. "sh-t," "g-ddamn," "b-tch") is frequently used throughout the film, as well as several instances of mild profanity. One mild drug reference.

Drinking and smoking are shown throughout the film.

The scenes with the shark are usually very intense, the shark looks frightening.

The sudden appearance of a severed head is done for shock value and may upset younger viewers.

The opening scene is very frightening. (The first scene was even #1 on a "Scariest Movie Moments" countdown)Other scenes are also frightening like the severed leg in the water, the Kitner boy's death, and Quint's death.

Although the film is rated PG, some of the above content is very intense and violent. Today, this film would probably be rated at the very least PG-13.

This film is actually catergorized as a horror. No children should see this film. It can be very realistic to some. The content may suggest the rating of "Jaws" should be R
