Really Sweet, 5 November 2004
8/10
Author: Shawn Watson (gator_macready@yahoo.com) from The Underverse

The peanuts gang are up to their usual mischief in preparation for Easter Sunday, but no one seems to be listening to Linus. He swears that the Easter Beagle will come and make the celebrations complete. Typically no one listens to him, he is little bit 'Ralph Wiggum' remember.

Though Snoopy ends up being that very Beagle, he's far too busy trying to help out Woodstock. The poor little bird is freezing in his cruddy little nest full of cold water. So Snoopy goes off to the mall (already advertising Xmas goodies!) to buy him a bird house. With hilarious results.

After much hijinks and endless trips to the mall for eggs (Marcie keeps smashing them as she doesn't know how to do egg-painting) Snoopy saves the day and proves Linus right after all. Sigh! They don't make 'em like this anymore. I'll take Snoopy over Spongebob any day.

Snoopy steals the picture., 20 February 2004
Author: ultramatt2000-1 from Orlando, Florida

Let's see, error prone Marcie, crabby Lucy, wise Linus, helping Snoopy, and good old Charlie Brown. I like the part where the Easterbeagle (i.e. Snoopy) approaches and gives the eggs to the kids. I also like the part where Snoopy is at the store, and dances with Marcie and Peppermint Patty. Woodstock is funny. The music is cool. And Marcie keeps messing up on boiling eggs. Which makes Peppermint Patty say "AAAUGGHH!" This happens for about 4 or 5 times. Why not just kick her out of here or something and let her do it herself. Or better yet, explain that eggs should not be broken, toasted or roasted in the beginning. That way she would not go through all this mess. I bet a lot of you people went up into similar problems as Peppermint Patty went into. You had similar problems with your friends or family members (like your siblings or parents no offense). Some scenes got edited into, THE CHARLIE BROWN AND SNOOPY SHOW (1983-1985). If you like this one, you'll like IT'S ARBOR DAY CHARLIE BROWN (1976).

Charming Fun, 16 January 2006
9/10
Author: MagnusCarnage (johncannan@hotmail.com) from United States

Like the Valentine's Day this episode is charming fun. You can't beat a cool Vince Guaraldi soundtrack, wry Charles Schulz humor and the earnest kid's voice actors not to mention some great catch the Beethoven references. This will not disappoint and has much to offer on so many levels. I have not seen it in years, but it cracks me up as much now as it did then. It even has some commentary on modern commercialism which is always heartening. While not as classic as the Christmas and Haloween episodes, it is up there with some of the best, certainly better than the ones which post-dated Vince Guaraldi death. Keep it on the shelf and bring it out in the spring. It will be a tradition you will be proud of!

Excellent holiday special which is very hip and hilarious, 14 July 2007
9/10
Author: Grace Zeh (filmgirlgz@cox.net) from Chantilly, Virginia, USA

In my opinion, this is an excellent holiday special which is very hip and hilarious. However, I couldn't bear seeing Marcie (voice of Peter Robbins) having to boil all those Easter eggs herself while Peppermint Patty yelled at her so she would do it right. In addition, the thing that really makes this special worth watching is the score, especially "Linus And Lucy." When that song is performed, I always get warm and tingly. I would have to say that's my favorite song of this special. If you ask me, Charles M. Schulz was a really good artist. In conclusion, I highly recommend this excellent Easter special which is very hip and hilarious to everyone, especially all you fans of the comic strip who have not seen it. When you see it, prepare to smile and have a good time.

Easter Egg Soup, Broken Bird Houses, Easter Beagles--In Charlie Brown's World, Just Another Ordinary Easter Sunday!, 25 March 2005

Peppermint Patty and Marcie are getting together to decorate Easter eggs. Patty has the paints ready while Marcie fries the eggs! Well, there goes that day. Snoopy's friend Woodstock, meanwhile, gets rained out of his nest. So Snoopy accompanies Charlie Brown, Linus and Sally to Discount Mart to buy a new house for Woodstock. Sally needed some new shoes and Linus was telling his friends about the Easter Beagle, who distributes Easter eggs to children on Easter morning. Sally reluctantly believes him. Peppermint Patty and Marcie arrive then to buy some more eggs. Everybody gets what they wanted. Marcie tries toasting the eggs and ends up cooking them; At first Woodstock can't fit in his new house, but soon he makes himself right at home! Furniture, major appliances, the works. But when Snoopy decides to invite himself over, he really brings down the house! He is sent back to Discount Mart to buy a new one. Patty and Marcie go to buy some more eggs. This time Marcie is instructed to BOIL the eggs, so she cracks the shells and dumps the yolks into the water, which enrages Patty.

Lucy plants her Easter eggs around the yard with intent to find them again the next day. Little did she know that Snoopy was gathering all the eggs behind her; Easter morning, Sally is furious at Linus when the Easter Beagle does not show; Peppermint Patty was distraught over the wasted efforts with the eggs; Charlie Brown is distraught over the whole holiday. But suddenly, who should come prancing along but the Easter Beagle himself: Snoopy! He gives eggs to Linus, Sally, Lucy, Marcie, Patty, Woodstock, but ran out when he got to Charlie Brown. Marcie scarfs down her entire egg, shell and all, leaving Patty very frustrated.

It's The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown is another classic Peanuts TV special! It goes up there with A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965), It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966), which was referenced here. Back then, Linus was all set to greet the Great Pumpkin in the middle of a pumpkin patch on Halloween night. Sally waited. The Great Pumpkin didn't show. Predictable results ensue. Then there's A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving from 1973. IN this Easter special, Charlie Brown didn't have much involvement. It mostly revolved around Snoopy and Woodstock and the bird house, Peppermint Patty and Marcie tending to their Easter eggs and Linus and Sally discussing the Easter Beagle. But anyway, this Easter I recommend you check out It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown! Great fun for children of all ages! Be on the look out for the Easter Beagle this Sunday, kids! But let's not forget what the holiday of Easter is really about: Our Lord and Savior.

It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown was a pretty amusing Peanuts special, 3 April 2008
6/10
Author: tavm from Baton Rouge, La.

While not as entertaining as many of the other Peanuts holiday specials (Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas), there's still some amusing scenes that makes It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown worth recommending. Like seeing Peppermint Patty get frustrated every time her friend Marcie cracks open the eggs (to fry, waffle, or boil) as Patty prepares to paint them. Or Snoopy botching some attempts at getting his bird friend Woodstock a bird house. Only a Peanuts cartoon would have a scene in a Discount Mart with a sign saying "Only 246 days till Christmas" with potential presents on sale! Though while Linus' belief in the Easter Beagle, unlike that of the Great Pumkin, comes true, isn't it a bit strange no one acknowledges that it's Snoopy doing the rounds? And why is Schroeder's scene so brief here? Otherwise, this was a pretty entertaining animated special with fine work, as always, by musician Vince Guaraldi on the score.

On Easter Sunday The Easter Beagle Comes And Brings Eggs For All Little Children, 20 April 2003
Author: alisonrosec

In this movie we have yet another fantasy creature of Linus's(remember The Great Pumpkin?)In this movie, you meet The Easter Beagle.

Linus keeps convincing everyone not to waste time on Easter activities i.e. painting eggs. Alas,no one listens to Linus. Sally gets frustrated once again.

Some scenes in this movie made me laugh such as Peppermint Patty getting frustrated at Marcie, when Snoopy got his nose caught in the hole at Woodstock's house, and when Patty,Marcie, and Snoopy were dancing in the store.

Snoopy appears as The Easter Beagle, and gives everyone eggs. So much for no doubt.

Charles Schulz(1922-2000)will be missed very much.

Happy Easter

Another Peanuts Adventure, 7 November 2005
3/10
Author: rebeljenn from Bath, England

Like the Valentine's Day episode of Charlie Brown, the Easter special is a lot of fluff regarding the members of the Peanuts Gang. It's not nearly as good as the Halloween episode (which is seems to mimic) or the Christmas episode.

In this episode, the Peanuts are getting ready for Easter, and Snoppy becomes the equivalent of the Easter Bunny. The episode is very mundane with a lot less to offer when compared to some of the previous Charlie Brown films.

Not terribly good. I would recommend that you see the Christmas episode or the Halloween one. Only watch this if you really are a fan.

Hated it!!!, 5 June 2006
1/10
Author: richklingman from United States

This is as depressing as the rest of the specials, though not as much as the Christmas one. It's amazing to me that more of my generation didn't grow up angst-ridden because of pap like this. You want to THROTTLE Lucy and the rest of the girls, save for Peppermint Patty, who at least tries to be nice to Charlie Brown, and give the rest of the gang a whop upside the head while imitating Cher in 'Moonstruck': "Snap out of it!" When CBS chose not to air any of the specials one year I sat down and wrote a personal letter to Roone Arledge, CEO at the time, profusely thanking him. These shows should be put in the dustbin, have kerosene poured over them, and set alight!
