Scott Rudin (First Wives Club, The (1996), Mother (1996/II), Ransom (1996)) will likely sign with Paramount to produce a remake of Shaft (1971), to be written and directed by John Singleton (Boyz N The Hood (1991), Poetic Justice (1993), Rosewood (1997)), the Hollywood Reporter reported today (Monday). Separately, the Los Angeles Times reported that producers Doug McHenry and George Jackson are attempting to persuade a studio to revive the 1973 blaxploitation film, Mack, The (1973). »
