Plenty of War/Battle Violence - Mainly Explosions & Gun Fire Sequences. There are several scenes of wounded and dead soldiers on battlefields with some shots lingering on the aftermath. You see bloody wounds that have been inflicted upon the fighters and in some instances charred remains. In some instances you see bodies on fire flying in the air due to tank fire or flame throwers; but these are not protracted or close up.

There are no close up shots of soldiers getting riddled with bullets and when people do get shot it is in the distance and bloodless. Most of the imagery with gore is the battle aftermath. The film is epic in scope and the sequences of violence and gore are justifed by the context of the historical narrative and are moderate in depiction.

Mild usage. The term 'son of a bitch' is used occasionally and 'shit' and 'bastard' a couple of times. This language used is in context with the films narrative and characterisation.

Some characters are seen smoking cigarettes and the main character is seen with a cigar hanging out of his mouth in several scenes. There are some scenes of alcohol consumption, but no drunkeness is depicted.

The battle sequences are quite intense and real hardware and realistic explosions are used, which puts you right in the action. Some viewers may find these scenes distressing as alot of young men are depicted as being killed. Viewers who have been in actual combat may find these scenes disturbing.
