Leo Leigh, son of Mike, is the latest in a burst of directorial scions to be making names for themselves
Leo Leigh, the 28-year-old son of Mike Leigh, is grim-faced when his dad's name crops up in conversation. "Who?" he says, impatiently. "Yeah, yeah, fine." When he gets going, though, Leigh – whose documentary, Swansea Love Story, is released online this week – chats away merrily about his childhood. One of his early memories is being on the set of Life is Sweet, which featured his mum, Alison Steadman; a makeup artist gave him and his brother Toby fake burns. He reckons he learned more about lighting in half an hour watching cinematographer Dick Pope shoot a scene on Vera Drake than he did in three years of film school: "It's the best free education ever."

Oscar and Emmy nominee Lena Olin will guest-star on an episode of "Law & Order: Svu" later this season.
Olin will play the attorney for a billionaire (Richard Burgi of "Desperate Housewives") who becomes entangled in a kidnapping case in the episode, NBC says. Russell G. Jones, who has appeared on the other "L&O" series in the past, will also guest as Burgi's head of security, who discovers a young woman has been abducted from his building.
The episode, titled "Confidential," is scheduled to air in February.
"Ever since I first saw Lena Olin in 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being,' I've been a huge admirer of her work," "Svu" executive producer Neal Baer says. "To have her guest on 'Svu' in this intense role is what makes my job so gratifying."
Olin earned an Emmy nomination in 2003 for "Alias" and an Oscar nod in 1989 for "Enemies, a Love Story.

Back in 1999, Eminem was best known as the slightly screwy, bottle-blond protégé of Dr. Dre. Ten years — and millions of albums — later, he's about to be known as the best-selling artist of the decade.
On Tuesday (December 8), Nielsen SoundScan — which tabulates the Billboard charts — released their lists of the best-selling artists, albums and songs of the '00s. And let's just say the past 10 years have been very good for Mr. Mathers.
Em sold more than 32.2 million albums in the 2000s, edging out the Beatles to claim the title of top-selling artist. The Beatles ended up with the decade's best-selling album (they sold nearly 11.5 million copies of 2000's greatest-hits comp 1,) besting the likes of 'Nsync's No Strings Attached (11.1 million copies sold) and Norah Jones' Come Away With Me,

The Twilight Saga: New Moon has been out for a few weeks, and fans are sad. Sad because it will be another nine months at least until Eclipse is released and with it the next sighting of Edward Cullen, everyone's favourite sparkly vampire.

The late ‘Thriller’ singer’s brother Jermaine Jackson paid tribute to the star when accepting the prizes for Favourite Soul/ R’n’B Artist, Favourite Pop/Rock Male Vocalist, Favourite Pop/Rock Album and Favourite Soul/R’n’B Album for his ‘Number Ones’ greatest hits compilation, praising his life philosophy.
