I love PF and I'm a major fan!
This (as previous post by Brian) had said was part of that great early 70's Friday night lineup on ABC. The original TGIF, if you will.
To each his own, of course, however, I love the songs, the stories, the chemistry of the actors. It was just good, fun entertainment, not as preachy as the Bradys and had real singers (David and Shirley I mean). The Bradys copy catted them when they started singing.
The interaction between Rueben and Danny was hilarious, Laurie was actually a well-written, intelligent female for the day. It was one of the first shows to have an independent widowed Mom, making her own living. "Julia" was another, but she didn't have 5 kids! LOL
Lastly, they were ahead of their time, "trying" to cover some topical issues. The Bradys never did this either. They had an episode which dealt with "saving the whales", as well as the Women's liberation movement and one dealing with the Indians on reservations.
So yes to each his own, I happen to love this show as much today as I did as a 7-11 year old, watching every first-run episode.
The crazy colored bus will roll on in my heart forever!
LOVE IT!
