With the proliferation of Top Tens and Best Of lists on the internet at this time of year we wanted to try something a little different.
2009 was an important year for the business of cinema; games were changed with the acquiescence of audiences to the notion of 3D, low budgets met with large returns, old franchises spawned reboots and rebakes with varying success, the British film industry remained strong and gave us some bright new stars in our sky.
We asked our writers to come up with an alternative set of awards which would honour those films, directors and actors who made 2009 such an enjoyable year. Strong emotions are rendered in strong language, be warned if words offend.

One Good Scare? Whoop-doo!
Rydell the Golden Weiner (a 10 month half lab-half dachshund), has spent the better part of an hour barking at an old Doritos bag drifting in the dark, wet field behind my house. A gust of wind just blew this weird cellophane creature over the fence, giving my poor pooch a terrifying holiday fright.

I thought Paranormal Activity would do the trick. But seriously? I saw scarier shit in the shoebox apartment I used to rent out in Burbank. The film gets a Boo! from The Whoop-Doo Nation elite. It's well made for what it is. Sure. But its four good (tiny) scares are all given away in the trailer. There is nothing in the film that makes

It was just last summer that I would get on a plane every Wednesday morning and fly across the country from New York to L.A. to shoot our show "Fnmtv" live on a Friday night. It was one of the best summers ever, made even better by the wonderful people that worked on the show and their extended families.
Cue Pete Wentz and his wife, Ashlee Simpson. Working on the show was the first time I had ever met Pete and Ashlee properly. At the time Ashlee was heavily pregnant with Bronx, and Pete was juggling his duties with Fall Out Boy, who were back in the studio working on their new album, and his new role as "Fnmtv" host. From day one, they were genuinely the nicest couple ever. We've been friends ever since, so when Ashlee stopped by the studio today, it was great to see her,
