Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.
Visit our Parents Guide Help to learn more

Sex & Nudity

Silhouettes of nude women are seen in the opening credits. Some light kissing.

Violence & Gore

Final action scene has a huge bodycount with many shooting deaths, no blood shown.

Characters are fed to man-eating pirahnas

Character is poisoned and chokes to death

Profanity

None

Little amount of smoking. Two characters refer to James Bond (Sean Connery) as a chain smoker (with additional dialogue about smoking), in fact he only smokes once (just holding, no drag). A Japanese thug smokes a cigar. There is a special cigarette-gadget in the movie, which is used by 007 and Tanaka (Tetsuro Tamba). No backround smoking in the movie.

Using a standardized scoring system, this film received a smoking rating of 4 Butts (on a scale of 0-4 Butts). For more information on the impact of onscreen smoking and the initiation of youth tobacco use, or for more information on the rating system, visit www.smokescreeners.org.

Just a couple of scenes in which Bond drinks vodka, sake and champagne, sometimes with other characters (Tanaka, Osato). The Siamese one he stole from Osatos mini-bar even disgusts him.

No illegal drug use at all.

Bond fakes his death at the beginning, which may startle some viewers.
