Hey now, this is a science fiction thriller? Good thing it said so on the box because I would not have known otherwise. This is made in 1966 but could have been made in the 40's, for all the wallop it packs. Very tame stuff. A bunch of has-been actors playing "friends" of a deceased rich dude come to Nassau (where all the "natives" are Hispanic?) to hear the reading of his will. One of them was in some way responsible for the man's death and the idea is to find out which one it is. Believe me, after a while (and not a LONG while) you won't care. I've heard the name Virginia Mayo before but couldn't tell you what other movies she's been in, but in this one she plays a "hottie" (for back then, anyway) who treats us to an acapella version of "Frankie and Johnny" which just made the film (more unbearable, that is). Also some great dialogue too, like her comment about Matt (Scott Brady) to another woman: "There aren't many of his kind left around". Yep, the rest evolved. Anyway we are treated to the usual dark spooky castle stuff, hidden passageways, and the dead guy getting up and walking as the result of some experiment that's never really explained. We also have a laser gun, a BIG laser gun, remember, this is only the 60's, no pocket models available yet. I guess maybe that satisfied the requirements for calling this a sci-fi movie. I guess if it's a rainy day and you're trapped inside, unable to do anything, and this was available to watch, it's worth seeing because it does have some vague entertainment values, but otherwise don't run out immediately seeking a copy of this.
