Trivia:
This film is basically a remake of "Gunga Din" set in the old west. After filming was completed, the producers discovered they needed to secure the rights to the original story. They were forced to pay a large fee to the copyright owners before the film could be released. more
Goofs:
Continuity: The trumpet is left behind when Jonah Williams leaves the cave. While he is returning and crossing the bridge/walking to the cave, he has the trumpet at his side. As he arrives at the cave, he again is without the trumpet. He retrieves it once he is back in the cave. more

I have not seen this picture in over 30 years, I think it is one of the best comedies put into a motion picture. I would like to buy it on VHS, but I feel that the motion picture of arts and science have lost it or it was not preserved
