Trivia:
When Dr. Huntley and the Professor are driving to the launch site, they pass the Variety Theater, which is showing Hideout in the Sun (1960). That film, which was Doris Wishman's first movie (Nude on the Moon was her second) launched her film making career. moreGoofs:
Factual errors: Scenes of the Earth from space are inverted. The continents are backward, and the Earth is rotating the wrong direction. moreQuotes:
Professor: [Discussing the upcoming Moon trip] If all goes well, we'll be back in Miami in four days.Dr. Jeff Huntley: Then you can see that movie you were telling me about.

First let me say that Doris Wishman's "Nude on the Moon" is not a sleaze movie, or even really that much of an exploitation movie. It more has the feel of a home movie with the home being a nudist colony. There is nothing at all sexual about the nude girls in this film, other than the fact that they all have nice-looking breasts on prominent display. Basically they all just stand around, pose, play with a beach ball, and occasionally one can be spotted in a bath. To prove my point that the film isn't meant to be sexual, there are actually nude children in the film. Who can get excited with them in there? (Actually, don't answer that.)
As a movie, this is dreadful. The first twenty minutes comprise a pair of scientists who suddenly inherit a sum of money allowing them to build a rocket to the moon. They blast off into space and arrive on the moon with absolutely no complications. Actually, as the characters point out, it might not even be the moon that they're on. It looks more like...well, like a resort in Florida, where the movie was shot. It's unclear to me why the scientists need oxygen tanks to breath since there seems to be plenty of flora around to give it off. Anyway, the acting is uniformly horrible, and Wishman displays precisely zero talent in every aspect of being a director. Once they're on the moon, it's literally long stretches of shots of nude women with no story to speak of. If you like that, rent this. As much as I like looking at naked ladies, I need a little more than that to call a film good. 2/10.
