Fun Stuff

Trivia:
The 1971 cancellation of the series resulted from CBS' desire to erase its image as a "rural network." In the process, other rural shows (including "Green Acres" (1965) and "Petticoat Junction" (1963)) were canceled as well. The general feeling was that "CBS canceled every show with a tree in it". more
Goofs:
Crew or equipment visible: The ending credits of the "pygmillion" episode, shows a man's right arm (with short sleeved shirt) as he is walking on the driveway toward the camera, and then it/he is jerked out of the picture as he gets close to the camera. more
Quotes:
Jed Clampett: Boy, I'm gonna give you 24 hours to clean up all this mess.
Jethro: Aw come on, Uncle Jed. I'm gonna clean up. I'm gonna set this world on fire!
Jed Clampett: You're gonna clean up alright. Everything. Or you're gonna end up with the seat of your britches on fire.

One of the best sitcoms ever!, 9 January 2001
Author: raysond from Chapel Hill, North Carolina

When "The Beverly Hillbillies" premiered on the CBS network in the fall of 1962,critics panned it and wanted it off the air. But all of America loved it and this is why it has been a staple of American television for so many years and it continues on to this day. Even though it was basically the #1 show on the air for the nine seasons it ran has stood the test of time and its playing somewhere in repeats around the world. I still can get a good laugh every time its on,even though I have seen every episode about 20 to 30 times already. One of the best sitcoms ever!
