Approximately seven minutes before "The End," Maile ('Joan Blackman') kicks Chad (Elvis) out of her room on Kauai, then peeks through the blinds. Briefly in her view is a couple paddling a canoe. The woman, blond and seated in front, is Pop singer Patti Page. How Patti paddled her way into being an extra came about because she was then married to Charles O'Curran, a choreographer and music stager for many films produced by Hal B. Wallis, including "Blue Hawaii."

Errors in geography: Sign pointing to Waianae is actually pointing towards Manoa Valley, on the other side of the island of O'ahu.

The movie that started Elvis' hatred for his own movies.

After Elvis came back from the army the colonel decided to put Elvis into quick movies which only took a short time to make. The soundtrack was great to this and one of Elvis' greatest selling records but the film was not a good acting role. I love this movie though, because it's so much fun, on the beach, on the surf board and with the girls. It is the movie that started Elvis' hatred for his own movies because The King wanted serious acting roles but unfortunately most of his movies after this would be the same. Although lots of fun and with lots of females the movie can get boring when you watch it for the 47th time.
