Fun Stuff

Trivia:
Orson Welles was courted for the part of Dr. Luther, played in the movie by Lee J. Cobb, but opted instead to direct Touch of Evil (1958). Welles even read the script and told director Nunnally Johnson that whoever played the lead would win the Oscar (Joanne Woodward did, in fact, win the Oscar). more
Goofs:
Anachronisms: In at least two scenes, including the opening with Eve being driven to the doctor's office, there are cars in the background newer than 1951 when the scene is indicated to be taking place. more
Quotes:
Eve Black: Don't you want to get me one?
Ralph White: Well, I've never seen you take a drink before.
Eve Black: Honey, there are a lot of things you've never seen me do before. That's no sign I don't do 'em.

Excellent!, 6 July 2003
Author: Jen (mtdewdependant@aol.com) from Florida

This movie is definitely a must-see for any classic movie lover. Joanne Woodward definitely deserved the Oscar for this one. It is so amazing how seemingly easy she could change from one character to another in 2 seconds flat and make it so believable. This is an excellent movie and I highly recommend it. 5 stars out of 5!:)
