The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

In one scene, Sefton (William Holden) charges other prisoners to view the nearby Russian womens' POW camp through his telescope. The implication is that the prisoners might glimpse a nude woman in the women's shower, but nothing is shown on screen.

In another scene, Sefton (William Holden) says he is going to visit the Russian women's camp. He is taking along a bottle of wine. He apparently has bribed the guards to allow this visit. The dialogue suggests he will sleep with one of the women there, or at least drink with them. The actual visit is not shown.

Various characters ogle a photo of World War II pinup girl Betty Grable.

Violence & Gore

Only three men are killed.

Profanity

Cigarettes are widely used during the movie. Alcohol is drunk in some scenes or reference to drinking alcohol is made.

Early in the film, two prisoners are shot by the German guards. Action occurs off screen. The covered bodies are shown, with the prisoners grieving their loss.

Near the film's end, Price (Peter Graves) is sent outside to die. He is tied up with cans attached so the guards will see him and shoot him. The death scene takes several seconds as he cries out to the guards.
