And here we were thinking the 80s was the in vogue fashion. Nope, the big news in style circles is the comeback of an unlikely item – the pointy bra. More conical and structured than their current squishier counterparts, these examples of old school underwear were popularised in the 50s by Hollywood sirens such as Marilyn Monroe and her Gentlemen Prefer Blondes co-star, Jane Russell and again were brought into the limelight when Madonna (who has often styled herself after her idol, Monroe) donned Jean-Paul Gaultier designed versions for her Blonde Ambition world tour in 1990. And now, it’s 19 years later and they’re back with a number of UK shops reporting surges in sales of pointy bras. Who’d have thunk it? »

Hollywood has a long history of showing us charming "golddiggers" in film, whether they're cute Depression-era heroines trying to get a free meal, a trio of Fifties fashion models scheming to land rich husbands, or soft-pedaled prostitutes of either gender. In Spread, the golddigger is a young man, much like Joe Buck in Midnight Cowboy if he'd succeeded in his original plans, but unfortunately not debonair or complex enough to overcome the feeling that the movie is more sordid than sweet or sharply comic.
Nikki (Ashton Kutcher) -- and what guy with that name spells it that way? -- wants to live a life of luxury with as little effort as possible. He succeeds nicely by picking up rich woman and sponging off them for as long as he can. He has no car, no home and no savings, even though at least one woman buys him expensive clothes and gifts. »

Marilyn Monroe fans will now have a chance to own some of her belongings! Her clothing, memorabilia, autographed pictures, and jewelry from her Brentwood home are reportedly being sold by Julien’s Auctions this month. One of the most notable items is Marilyn Monroe’s leotard costume made of chiffon and net with fitted fishnet overlay and rhinestones. This costume is believed to have been designed by William Travilla and allegedly intended to be worn for Marilyn to sing "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" in the movie "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" but deemed inappropriate by the censors.
