The above comment gives me the courage to admit that I am fascinated by train wrecks and that I always considered "I Married Joan" to be one. I also have to admit that I am a big Lucy fan and that I haven't seen "I Married Joan" since the 50's. Joan always reacted to the situations she got into with panic and a desperation that were no fun to watch. She would squirm and sweat and demonstrate terror of what "Brad" would say or do when he got home. I didn't find it funny as a kid and I doubt that I would find it so now. I noticed in a previous comment that Sherwood Schwartz was a writer on the show which might explain why it lacked something. The sight of Joan Davis pacing around wringing her hands with worry has never left me. I know Lucy did a lot of hand wringing too but somehow I can forgive her because of everything that surrounded her: talent, great writing and a great cast. You knew that Ricky Ricardo would always forgive her whereas with Joan Davis you couldn't even like "Brad" because Joan was so afraid of him that it made him unlovable.
