Five disc box set of classic films based on literary classics. Ronald Colman stars in the 1937 The Prisoner of Zenda and Stewart Granger stars in the 1952 version in the double feature disc. Gene Kelly is D'Artagnan in the 1948 The Three Musketeers co-starring Lana Turner, June Allyson, and Van Heflin. Jennifer Jones is Madame Bovary (1949) in Vincent Minnelli's adaptation co-starring Van Heflin and Louis Jordan, Gregory Peck is Captain Horatio Hornblower (1951) in the naval adventure co-starring Virginia Mayo, and Terence Stamp makes his film debut as Billy Budd (1962), co-starring Robert Ryan and Peter Ustinov. (1948) Gene Kelly turns swashbuckling swordsman in one of his non-musical roles, playing D’Artagnan in the Technicolor adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas classic. Lana Turner is the villainous Lady de Winter, June Allyson is the innocent Constance, Van Heflin, Robert Coote, and Gig Young are his fellow musketeers, Vincent Price is the scheming Cardinal Richelieu, and Frank Morgan and Angela Lansbury are King Louis and Queen Anne.
