Factual errors: In opening scene of Cheetah fishing they show some parrots in the trees, a macaw and two cockatoos. Macaw are native to Central and South America and cockatoos are found only in Australia and surrounding islands.

Brenda Joyce is Jane

In this Tarzan adventure we see Tarzan and Boy waiting for Jane to come back home.She's returning from nursing home in England to support the war effort.Before her return we see Tarzan rescuing an "Amazon" woman from an attack by a black panther.Tarzan carries her through a mountain pass to the valley where her city of Palmyria is located.This is a city nobody ought to know about, apart from Tarzan.Boy follows Tarzan even though he shouldn't and finds out about Palmyria.The Amazon woman happens to drop a golden bracelet during the attack and Cheeta picks it up.The stubborn chimpanzee gives the bracelet to Jane.That's how the men that are with her find out about the secret city.Boy, who is angry at Tarzan for not taking the men to the city, leads them there himself.Soon the life of Boy is in danger.Tarzan and the Amazons (1945) is directed by Kurt Neumann and produced by Sol Lesser.In this Tarzan Brenda Joyce appears as Jane for the first time next to Johnny Weissmuller's Tarzan.She succeeded Maureen O'Sullivan in the series and appeared in the role five times.I think Brenda makes a sweet Jane.Johnny Sheffield is Boy.Henry Stephenson plays the well-meaning explorer Sir Guy Henderson.Barton MacLane, who was also in Tarzan and the Huntress two years later plays Ballister, the villainous member of Henderson's party.The role of the Amazon Queen is played by Maria Ouspenskaya.Athena, the girl who Tarzan rescues is played by Shirley O'Hara.This Tarzan movie is a mighty fine jungle adventure.And Cheeta offers some great comedy.It's quite funny to see Cheeta trying to catch a fish.He also wants to smoke some cigars and mistakes explosives for them.A biography of Cheeta (the one that's 76) entitled Me Cheeta is coming out soon.You should read that.And watch this fine movie of the Tarzan franchise.
