Being one of the largest cities in the world comes with its own set of problems. Sure, dense populations tend to lead to higher rates of crime and homelessness, and maintaining the general welfare of any major metropolis is a gargantuan undertaking, but being a globally recognized city overflowing with landmarks means you've also got a cinematic bullseye on your back; and there is no bigger bullseye than New York, New York. Anyone with a big effects budget and a rampaging [insert name of monster, alien, meteor, or climate disaster here] is going to want to see NYC burn to the ground in their film. And if the box office haul of massive disaster pictures is any indication, most movie goers are also going to want to see NYC burn to the ground.
But why wade through the savagely long run time of 2012 (only to not even be treated to a NYC demolition) or the cinematic sadness that is Godzilla

There are so many interesting stories of real people in the world, that the biopic is one genre I'm always interested in keeping a close eye on. Not everyone's story is the same (even if there are certain formulaic elements to the genre) and there's so much that I don't know about so many differently people. It looks like we'll be learning more courtesy of DreamWorks as Variety reports they've picked up a screenplay written by Doug Wright (Memoirs of a Geisha) about legendary composer George Gershwin responsible for such classic and easily recognizable pieces as "Rhapsody in Blue" and "An American in Paris". Read on!
The studio has been quiet about the project because they're still finalizing the deal to develop this film in the same vein as another major biopic of theirs: the Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic (led by Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider) with the full

In a story from Variety, DreamWorks is putting together a biopic on composer George Gershwin.
The studio bought a screenplay from Doug Wright (Memoirs of a Geisha). Apparently, the deal for this script sale is almost complete.
The film will follow Gershwin's life, from his early years in Brooklyn as the child of Russian immigrants to his untimely death in Hollywood in 1937 at age 38. Throughout his short life, he wrote more than a dozen Broadway shows with his older brother Ira. His music continues to be used in commercials, TV and films. In fact, Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and "An American in Paris" are among the most recognizable musical works throughout the world.

Brian Wilson has confirmed that he will work on unfinished music by composer George Gershwin. The former Beach Boy has been given permission to rework the songs by Gershwin's estate and the new tracks will feature on an album alongside classic Gershwin covers. Wilson said: "I've always loved George Gershwin. The earliest music I remember hearing is 'Rhapsody In Blue'. "He had a gift for melody that nobody has ever equalled yet his music is timeless and always accessible." The Gershwin family added: "In (more)

Coming at the end of this month, Hudson releases its follow up to last year’s commercial success with Deca Sports 2 for the Nintendo Wii. With ten all different games from the original Deca Sports, Hudson hopes to offer a different experience than that of Wii Sports or Wii Sports Plus. Like Wii Sports, the Deca Sports franchise is geared as a casual pickup and play game featuring a variety of gameplay options. It does, however, put a focus on full game experiences as opposed to the mini-game or made-up sports style of products like Wii Play.
Deca Sports 2 will not feature use of the Nintendo first party peripherals like the Balance Board from Wii Fit or the WiiMotion Plus controller add-on. When asked about it, Hudson representatives told us that WiiMotion Plus had not been announced at the time in development of Deca Sports 2 where they could insert it into the game.
