Trivia:
Veronica Lake and Fredric March did not like one another, due in part to some disparaging remarks March made about her. During filming, Lake delighted in playing pranks on March, such as hiding a 40-pound weight under her costume when March had to carry her in his arms. In another scene in which the two were photographed only from the waist up, Lake stuck her foot in March's groin. moreGoofs:
Anachronisms: The film opens with a scene of Puritans in the Massachusetts colony burning witches. No-one was ever burned for witchcraft in America. The accused witches of Salem, Massachusetts, and its environs were hanged, with the exception of Giles Corey, who was pressed to death with rocks. moreQuotes:
Wallace Wooley: I'm afraid you've got a hangover.Daniel: Don't tell me what I've got! I invented the hangover. It was in 1892... B.C.

Good Haloween romance comedy with a screwball flavor.Veronica Lake is enchanting despite her lack of acting skill and we even get some extra flavor from Susan Hayward!March is somewhat miscast but still manages to pull it off.Great special effects for 1942 and also makes a good prequel to the Bewitched TV series. An essential cult classic for fans of Haloween comedies.Almost a mainstream classic if it only had a more longer running time.Only for fans of the genre and fans of the lead actors.....
