Remarkably good espionage thriller - quite well done., 2 April 2002
7/10

Occasionally Republic Studios comes up with a winner, heads above their usual barely competent output and this is one of them. An espionage thriller that is constantly engaging and filled with both suspense and comedy, it is one of their best efforts. The plot summary on this site covers the basic action. William Wright is amusing and debonair as the government agent and Osa Massen alluring and tongue in cheek as the unhappy wife of his target. The Sound was deservedly nominated for an Oscar - it's vibrant, clear and strong. Additionally excellent but not nominated were the excellent cinematography (composition and use of light and darkness as well as camera movement are top notch) and the excellent Cy Feuer score (in turns lush, tense and comedic).

This is a worthy film to seek out.
