Box set of 8 feature film collaborations between director John Ford and actor John Wayne. Ford handed Wayne the role that would make him a star: the Ringo Kid in a little picture called Stagecoach (1939). The deluxe box set features a newly-remastered 2-disc Special Edition of Stagecoach and The Searchers: Ultimate Collector's Edition (1956), a deluxe, 2-disc presentation of Ford’s masterpiece starring Wayne as a stoic loner on a mission of rescue that turns into vengeance. Also features the DVD debuts of three films: Fort Apache (1948), the first film in Ford's celebrated "Cavalry Trilogy," co-starring Henry Fonda as a Custer-like commander, The Long Voyage Home (1948), adapted from the Eugene O'Neill play, and the bittersweet drama Wings Of Eagles (1957), a tribute to pioneer aviator and Ford friend and collaborator Frank "Spig" Weed, co-starring Maureen O'Hara. New editions of They Were Expendable (1945), 3 Godfathers (1948) and She Wore A Yellow Ribbon (1949) complete the box set. Each disc also available separately. (1948) John Wayne is cast against type as a naïve young Swedish sailor in John Ford's film about seafaring man in the adaptation of four Eugene O'Neill one-act dramas, co-starring Thomas Mitchell, Barry Fitzgerald, Arthur Shields, Ward Bond, John Qualen and Mildred Natwick. O'Neill considered it his favorite of all his filmed works. Nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
