We recently purchased a Bugs Bunny DVD from Wal-Mart for $1.00. To our surprise the DVD had only one or two of the episodes listed on the cover. Well it was only a dollar so what the heck - right? We put it in and it had a lot of strange never-been-seen-before cartoons(at least by us). It had an old Popeye too. One of the cartoons was one with Hunky and Spunky titled "Always Kicking". I had never heard of Hunky and Spunky but after investigating I find that this is one of seven cartoons made from 1939 until 1941. Well our granddaughter just LOVES it! It is about a mother and daughter or father and son donkeys. In this episode Spunky is practicing kicking a mattress while Hunky watches and then shows him how to do it right. Later a giant vulture grabs a little bird friend of Spunky's and flies with it to her nest. Spunky then uses his newly learned expertise to kick the daylights out of the mean old vulture and save the little bird. His mother(or father) is so proud of him and so are the other little birds who were tormented by the vulture. A very cute cartoon and we are so glad we ACCIDENTALLY found it.
