Author: SeventyFiveYearOldGuy from United States

Sure, it still has gags, and it even has a bit of suspense with the fire starting and the gal (the guy's a crook so nobody cares about him) in peril.

The duck laying an explosive egg is clever, I liked that. And of course the exploding fire engine...that you just knew was going to happen.

But a lot of the gags just seemed to fall a bit flat. It definitely isn't up to the classic crime type stooges classics like Disorder In The Court or Dizzy Detectives, nor up to their wartime shorts. All the same, there's enough to this to watch. Interesting that it was directed by Charley Chase.
