• Several cast members in studio records/casting call lists did not appear or were not identifiable in the movie. These were (with their character names): Pat Flaherty and Creighton Hale (Officers), André Cheron (French Man) and Larry Steers (Assistant Purser).
  
  
• George Raft initially was cast as Carole Lombard's co-star, but he walked off the set at the start of production. He objected to Ted Tetzlaff as the cinematographer.
  
  
• One of over 700 Paramount Productions, filmed between 1929 and 1949, which were sold to MCA/Universal in 1958 for television distribution, and have been owned and controlled by Universal ever since.
