Well, I haven't seen this 1935 Hollywood production since I was about 8 or 9, when I saw it on TV, but it and the original Dracula are just about the only movies that gave me nightmares. This one is so creepy I still can shudder a little bit when I think about it. To see "She" walk into the fire and turn into a wrinkled old bat was almost more than I could handle. And the monkey-people were truly weird -- if that's what they were (are). I tried to watch the remake with Ursula Andress (also on TV) but it was so tame and watered down compared with my memory of the original that I couldn't watch the whole thing. I will probably buy it just to see it it still holds up, now that I'm not a kid any more.
