In the 61 minutes it takes for this adapted play to run its very stagey course, we see a woman, who had a fling on holiday with another man, returned to her husband, and is now being blackmailed by the cad. When she accidentally kills him, she must live with her guilt and constant fear of exposure.
It's a very talkative piece with little action or camera movement and merely provides a vehicle for the star actress to show off. This was Ann Harding's second film and she is not quite as sure of herself as she would quickly be in Hollywood, tending to overact at times. She remains the only reason for seeing this forgettable film. She is radiant as always, reminding one of Jeanne Eagels here, and even though neither the film nor the performance add up to much, Ann is always a treat for the eyes.
For Ann Harding fans only.
