It has been thirty years since I've seen this film so the narrative is no longer with me. My memory tells me Colman is unjustly sentenced for a crime he does not commit and is sent to a tropical penal colony. Harding, as I recall, is the unhappy wife of the Warden. Well, you can guess the rest. These two expert actors do a wonderful job. Colman was nominated for an Oscar for this performance and deserved it. The cinematography is also quite stunning. It's been on television though never to my knowledge on video.
